It’s not that complicated… Drink what you like.
That being said here are some of the wines I like and the reasons why… If you have suggestions, email me at thor@eakescpas.com
2011 and 2012 were great years for Napa Chardonnays. But who has time to research which Chardonnay and what vineyard? Just give me the names!
OK…
Bread and Butter Chardonnay is the very best, at about $18/bottle it won’t break the bank. Oakey and full bodied, it’s got real depth and character, Like me!
Lloyd Chardonnay is deep and rich and buttery… and expensive, a nice gift or special occasion… Life’s too short to drink bad wine.
The Rapp Ranch Chard is buttery and complex and a favorite (but you have to join the Napa Wine club associated with the vinyard)
La Crèma Chardonnay is the old stand by - like Pixar movies, it never disappoints.
Let’s go dark for a moment:
Giant Steps Pinot Noir Yarra Valley, Australia is a great Pinot…
Austin Hope Cab 2016, 2017 are both stellar cabs (full-bodied and smooth)
Belle Glos is a beautiful bottle to gift and its jammy notes and smooth delivery pair with anything (including cheddar spring onion potato chips)
If you’re grabbing a 6 pack of wine at the market, look for…
7 Deadly Zins
La Créma (again) Pinot Noir
